What was this Crawl Space Challenge?
This Plano, TX Homeowner was constantly dealing with problems in the area underneath his home, like mold growth, water entering the crawlspace and rodents. He wanted to make his home more comfortable and energy efficient, so he called Advanced Home Comfort.
Our home comfort specialist Brian went to this home and performed a full Crawl Space inspection and came up with a strategy to fix all the issues.
Our Crawl Space Encapsulation Solution
Step one (1) of Brian’s strategy was to prevent water from entering the crawlspace, to do that, our install team led by Eddie installed a Sump Pump with drain tile. Step two (2) consisted of isolating the house from the earth by installing a 12mil vapor barrier covering the entire crawl space floor, walls and piers. The third step was to seal the foundation vents and other outside air leaks in order to eliminate moisture from entering the crawlspace. The last step of Brian’s strategy was to condition the crawl space air, for that, Eddie and his team installed a Dehumidifier that will pull out the ongoing moisture. Needless to say, the homeowner was very amazed by the results!
